This is part of a series of quests needed to progress in the Abyssea storyline. Enter La Theine Plateau for a cutscene that finishes the quest.
You will see a cutscene each time you are successful. This is also how you get to the room where the NM Morbolger spawns as well as the zone to La Theine Plateau near the Cermet Headstone. Examine the Cavernous Maw in La Theine Plateau at (E-4) while in possession of a Traverser stone. The quest for the Purple Belt is a prerequisite for this quest and therefore must be.
